Brief Bio
Bran Selic is President of Malina Software Corp., a Canadian company that provides consulting services to major corporate clients and government institutions worldwide. He is also Director of Advanced technology at Zeligsoft Limited in Canada and a Visiting Scientist at Simula Laboratories in Oslo, Norway. In 2007, Bran retired from IBM Canada, where he was an IBM Distinguished Engineer, and was responsible for setting the strategic direction for software development tools for technical systems. In addition, he is an adjunct professor of computer science at the University of Toronto and at Carleton University (Ot tawa, Canada), as well as a guest lecturer and researcher at the University of Sydney (Australia) and at INSA (Lyon, France). With close to 40 years of practical experience in designing and implementing large-scale industrial software systems, Bran has pioneered the application of model-driven development methods in real-time and embedded applications. In this domain, he has led numerous research projects, authored and edited several textbooks and numerous technical papers and chaired major conferences dedicated to these problems. In addition, he was one of the principal contributors to several technical standards related to OMG's Model-Driven Architecture initiative, including chairing the committee responsible for the widely adopted UML modeling language standard. In addition, Bran is one of the founders and a member of the steering committee of the Centre of Excellence for Research in Adaptive Systems (CERAS), an institute established by the Ontario Centres of Excellence and the IBM Center for Advanced Studies. Brief Bio
Slimane Hammoudi is Professor at ESEO in Angers-France, a graduate school of engineering in electronics, computing, networking and telecommunications. Since 2003 his research interests have been in the main area of Model Driven Engineering with the focus on two application domains: Web Services and Context-Awareness. Since 2005, he has served as a co-chair of a workshop on Model Driven Development (MDEIS and FTMDD), a satellite workshop of ICEIS, international conference on enterprise information systems.

Brief Bio
Luís Ferreira Pires was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1961. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Electronics from the 'Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica' (São José dos Campos, Brazil) in 1983 and, his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the 'Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo' (São Paulo, Brazil), in the Computer Networks specialisation, in 1989. He obtained his PhD degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, in September 1994. Since 1988 he is working at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands), initially as research fel low of the Faculty of Computer Science, from 1992 to 1994 as Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and since 1994 as Associate Professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. He is currently also Programme Director of the Business & IT Bachelor and Master Education Programmes of the University of Twente. He is a member of the Services, Cyber-security and Safety (SCS) group. His professional interests are design methodologies for distributed systems, architecture of distributed systems, modelling and specification techniques, middleware platforms and telematics applications. He is responsible for the Master courses ‘Service-Oriented Architecture with Web services’ and ‘ADSA: Model-Driven Engineering’, and he contributes to the Bachelor Modules ‘Software Systems’ and ‘Data and Information’. ... Professor Buchalcevova graduated in 1981 at Prague University of Economics, Faculty of Management in the specialisation Information Systems Management. Since then she has been working at the faculty and at present she is associate professor at the Department of Information technologies. Her research field is object oriented analysis, design and programming, software process improvement, software quality assurance, management of business informatics, Enterprise Architecture, and Green ICT. She is a programme committee member of several international information systems and software engineering conferences (Softwar e development and object technologies, Information System Development, CONFENIS, EuroSPI, WESOA, IBIMA) and reviewer of several journals (Journal of Systems Integration, Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, Information Systems Frontiers, Malaysian Journal of Computer Science, Software Quality Journal )Since 2008 she has been involved in the working group WG24 within ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7.She is an author or co-author of 10 books, many journal articles and conference papers. ...
